October 21: Sao Paulo

Having emerged through customs without a hitch, the delegation's first stop was Octavia's, a well-known coffee bar.  Over a traditional Brazilian breakfast, we compared notes on the 9+ hour flight from JFK and enjoyed delicious coffee.  Octavia's is a shrine to coffee, with a pictorial stations honoring the stages of the harvesting, processing, and brewing processes. After a quick shower it's off to a walking tour of the neighborhood and a visit to a supermarket for bottled water and other potables. As it's Sunday, no professional meetings are scheduled, but we review the agenda for the week and learn about the history of Brazil.
